Small Stuff

There is a good range of rods available to be custom build now for targeting the smaller species -such as Perch, Roach, Grayling, Crucians.

Below, I have short-listed what I use.

I do however build the full range from Harrison, and FreeSpirit, so if you have a model you want, just telephone me.

Legering. The Torrix 12' 1.25 TC with multi tip options.
This fast-actioned rod has a powerfull butt section for lobbing feeders etc.
The Torrix 12' 1.25 TC rod can come with 1, 2, or 3 tips. The first tip is the standard specialist - like a normal rod; the second is a carbon tip to take push-in carbon quiver tips while the third is is a carbon and glass blend tip to take push-in glass quiver tips. At last I had the rod I'd always wanted. Happily targeting good sized Roach one minute with a soft quiver and the next boltrigging for Crucians. Yes it really does work well.
There are a full range of handle options available to be built on this rod.

See the
Handle Options page.

There is also a
Torrix 10' 1.25 TC model in quiver tip form only. Prices as above.

Legering. The Roach Leger is a 12' 3pc 3oz carbon quiver tip rod designed for targeting big Roach on fast-moving small rivers - like the Hampshire Avon. This 3oz tip might appear to be too heavy for fishing for big Roach - but it isn't.
This rod is designed to be used on rivers where the 3oz carbon tip resists well to the flow and allows the whole rod to register the bite.
If, for example, the river flow pulls a light glass tip over too much, it makes for poor bite detection. A stiffer 3oz carbon, fixed into this forgiving rod, gives a 'nod' type bite and resists tip collapse in stronger flow. This may sound a bit complex, but it works really well on strongly flowing waters. Just relax and enjoy the action.

Float. The Harrison Gti range of 3 pc float rods, allows you a wide choice of rods - depending on what your targeting.
I use the
13' Gti. I use mine for trotting on the river for Grayling, Roach, and small Chub, and on the stillwaters I like to target anything under 3 lbs. If I was going for bigger stuff, I would use my Torrix 12' 1.25 Specialist Float. ( see the Chub and Barbel rods or the Bream and Tench rods )
