Harrison Dark Carbon 14' Specialist Float
Build times 4 months
Ultra Matte blank finish, ( Not shown. Images are of the gloss black not offered anymore ) black whippings with a bronze tip highlight / Full cork handle / DPS black reelseat / Atlas black Specialist Float ring set.
The Dark Carbon 14' Specialist Float is built with bigger fish in mind. The rod is ideal for holding in the hand as well as on the rest as it's not heavy. It has a quick action so smaller fish still feel OK, but when you latch into a big'un you have a large amount of power in the mid and butt sections.
The tip is 1.50 test curve and moves quickly down the fast action blank working up to the feel of 2.00tc. This rod is a true Specialist Float rod, good for all specialist float fishing
'Hook them. Play them. Net them'
This rod is perfect for all the specialist float work that the standard match type rods just aren't man enough for. Perfect for targeting big Bream, Tench and Carp on my handmade wagglers, or trotting for Barbel and Chub again with one of my specialist floats. You now have the power.
Working closely with Dr Steve Harrison we developed the Dark Carbon Range of blanks and the 14' Specialist Float has it's foundations in the awesome GTI stepped up model.
I wanted my own range of very high quality rods that I build to my design and keep in stock ready to go. This is great for anyone who wants and very high quality rod made with all the love and attention normally associated with a custom build but doesn't want to wait weeks for delivery.
A Dark Carbon rods is less expensive than an equivalent spec custom made model, not due to it being a lesser quality rod, because it isn't, but because dealing with a custom order and all the management of the component supply chain associated with that take a good deal of time. This cost isn't applicable to a Dark Carbon rod so this cost saving is passed straight on to you, fact.
Another big cost saving factor is no having the fancy very expensive "checker board" weave pattern cosmetic carbon over layer.
So, no fancy weave and vastly reduced admin time results in the Dark Carbon rods being just as high quality as one of my customs but with a considerable cost reduction.
